Random Fun at Gramma & Grampa’s

We love to play at G&G’s – swinging, riding bikes, pretending to be monsters, helping Grampa with the horses… you name it, we do it!

Great Gramma and Grampa Barrus

While we were in Utah we got to visit with my grandparents. This was their first meeting with Grace. She loved them! They stayed at a hotel near my parents house and we all got to go swimming in the hotel pool. It’s always lots of fun to visit with grammas and grampas!

Elders Morgans is Home!

(That’s not a typo, that’s how they write it in Latvian!) Mike’s youngest brother came home after serving a two year mission in Latvia. We were so thrilled to get to see him before we came back to Colorado. While waiting for Uncle Dane, I explained that while Daddy (Mike) and I have each other, and Uncle Hal and Aunt Sam have each other, Uncle Dane doesn’t have someone he can hug and love on. Lily exclaimed (as only Lily Lovebug can), “I will run up and give Uncle Dane the BIGGEST hug so he won’t be lonely!”

We spent that night and the next day just hanging out and hearing all about his time in Latvia. It was so great to be around him and to spend time with the rest of the family.

Game Time

I went to one of my mom’s volleyball games while I was in Utah. I psyched her out pretty bad, sitting there with the camera. I think she did great, but she’s glad I won’t be watching her again any time soon.

Happy Birthday to Me

I celebrated my 31st birthday at my parent’s house. My kids helped Gramma and Aunt Lynsey make me yummy lemon cupcakes with raspberry frosting, and we had fun putting on hats… well, all of us except Grace.

The Circle of Life

While we were visiting my parents, we got to witness Blue (their barn cat) catch, play with, and eat a mouse. Lily, true to her very nature, followed Blue around while cooing, “Come here, mousey, I will hide you!” The mouse tried to take her up on the offer, clambering up her leg, but Aunt Lynsey heroically stepped in scooped Lily up – all the while I documented this fascinating encounter. James got in on the act as well, trying to pet Mr. Mousey during a break in the action. Mousey was more successful in ascending James leg, yet still ended in the inevitable grasp of Blue.

Grace’s 1st Food

When Grace turned 7 months, we decided to try giving here some “real” chow: bananas. Her reactions were mixed.

Michael Gets Ready for Scouting

Mike was recently called into the Young Men’s presidency and also as the assistant scout master. He’s been thrilled to be working with them. He’s made camping hammocks,

and a little alcohol stove out of a stainless steel water bottle.

So much fun! He went on his first campout while the kids and I were in Utah, and seemed to really enjoy it.
